How to Remove Stubborn Grass Stains from an Evening Gown

Materials
- Dish soap
- Ammonia
- White vinegar
- Borax
- Rubbing alcohol
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Laundry detergent
- Cold water
Instructions
- Mix one part ammonia with one part cold water in a bucket.
- Soak stained portion of the fabric in mixture for 10 minutes.
- Mix two parts white vinegar with one part cold water in a bowl.
- Add one tablespoon of Borax to mixture and stir until dissolved.
- Apply the mixture on the stained area and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Mix one part rubbing alcohol with one part cold water in a bowl.
- Moisten a cloth with the mixture and use it to dab the stained area.
- Mix one part hydrogen peroxide with one part cold water in a bowl.
- Using a sponge, apply the mixture on the stained area.
- Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
- Soak fabric in a solution of laundry detergent and cold water for 30 minutes.
- Rinse fabric and check for any remaining stains.
- If stains are still visible, repeat steps until they are removed.
Tips and Warnings
- Be sure to test all cleaning solutions on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric before applying to the stained area.
- Do not use hot water, as this can cause the stain to set permanently.
- When using rubbing alcohol, keep in mind that it can cause discoloration of some fabrics.
- Avoid using chlorine bleach and harsh chemicals as they may damage the fabric.
