Start by scrubbing the grass stains with hot water and dish soap. Take care not to use too much soap as this can create a soapy residue that can get between the cracks and crevices of the board and be impossible to remove.
If stains are still present after scrubbing, soak the cutting board in a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water for about 30 minutes. The acidic properties of the vinegar will help to break down the grass stain, making it easier to remove.
After soaking, scrub the board with a clean brush and hot water. Be sure to use a brush that won't damage the surface of the cutting board.
If the stains are still present, you can use baking soda or salt to help remove them. Sprinkle the baking soda or salt over the stain and then scrub again with a brush and hot water.
For tougher stains, you may need to soak the cutting board in lemon juice for about 10 minutes. The citric acid in the lemon juice will help to break down the grass stains and make them easier to remove.
Wipe off any excess water and let the board air dry completely before using it again.
By following these simple steps, you can remove grass stains from your cutting boards in no time. With proper care and maintenance, you can ensure your cutting boards remain clean and in top shape.
