The first step is to pre-treat the grass stain with laundry detergent and warm water. Mix a small amount of laundry detergent in a bowl of warm water and then use a soft cloth or towel to apply it directly to the stain. Rub cloth gently into the stain, taking care not to rub too hard as this could damage fabric.
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, you can move on to soaking it in oxygen bleach. This will help to break down the stain molecules and lift them from the fabric. Dissolve the oxygen bleach in a bowl of warm water, according to the instructions on the packaging, then soak the stained area for around 20 minutes. Make sure the fabric is completely submerged in the oxygen bleach solution.
After the stain has been soaked in the oxygen bleach solution, it’s time to rinse it with fresh water. Run cold water over the stained area until all traces of the bleach solution have been washed away. It’s important to ensure that the fabric is completely clean and free of any bleaching agent before moving on to the next step.
Once fabric has been rinsed, it’s time to launder it as usual. Follow any specific washing instructions for the fabric, then allow it to air dry. Once fabric has dried, check to see if the grass stains have been successfully removed. If the stains are still visible, repeat steps one to four again.
Removing grass stains from cotton voile is actually quite straightforward. Following the simple four step process outlined above should help you to get rid of stubborn grass stains and restore your fabric to its original condition.
