Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before you start cleaning, make sure you have all the necessary supplies. For this process, you'll need a bucket of warm water, a few strips of cloth, dish soap, white vinegar, and a scrub brush. An old toothbrush will also work fine.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Start by pre-treating the stain with a mix of warm water and either dish soap or white vinegar. You can also use a commercial stain remover, if you prefer. Work the soap or vinegar into fabric until it forms a lather, then leave it to soak for a few minutes before rinsing.

Step 3: Scrub the Stain With a Brush

After pre-treating the stain, use a soft-bristled scrub brush to work lather into the fabric. Keep scrubbing until the stain is completely gone. It may take several minutes of vigorous scrubbing before you see the desired results.

Step 4: Let the Fabric Air Dry

Once you've removed the stain, rinse fabric with clear water and let it air dry. Be sure not to wring or twist the fabric, as this could cause the stain to become further embedded into the material. Hang fabric up to dry, and check it periodically to make sure the stain is still gone.
