What You'll Need

  • A clean cloth
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • An old toothbrush
  • Lukewarm water
  • White vinegar

Step 1 - Blot the Stain

Lay the lace flat and use a clean cloth to blot at the stained area. Do not rub it as this can cause damage to fabric of the lace.

Step 2 - Dissolve Detergent in Lukewarm Water

Mix a teaspoon of mild laundry detergent with some lukewarm water in a bowl. Stir the mixture until the detergent has dissolved completely.

Step 3 - Soak Lace

Soak stained area of the lace in the detergent solution for 15 minutes. After that, use an old toothbrush to lightly scrub away any remaining residue.

Step 4 - Rinse the Lace

Once you're done scrubbing, rinse the lace with lukewarm water and let it air dry.

Step 5 - Treat Remaining Stains with Vinegar

If there are still some stains remaining, it's time to bring out the white vinegar. Soak a cloth in vinegar and dab it directly onto stained areas. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.
