Charmeuse is a type of fabric that is lightweight, durable and soft to touch. As with any fabric, it's important to take special care when removing grass stains from the material. Follow these six simple steps to have your charmeuse looking good as new.
To start, use a spoon or butter knife to remove any excess grass or debris from the fabric. This will help to prevent any further staining.
Next, apply a pre-treatment solution such as an enzymatic laundry detergent, a spot stain remover or a fabric stain remover specifically designed for grass stains. Allow the pre-treatment to sit on the stain for at least five minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Once the pre-treatment has had a chance to work, rinse the fabric under cold water. Make sure all of the pre-treatment solution is removed before moving on to the next step.
Now that the pre-treatment is removed, apply a liquid detergent solution to the stain. If possible, use a detergent specifically designed for delicates. Allow the detergent to sit on stain for 10 minutes before rinsing.
Once the detergent has had a chance to work, rinse fabric thoroughly to remove any remaining soap or detergent residue.
Finally, lay the fabric flat on a clean, dry towel and allow it to air-dry. Do not put it in dryer as this may cause the stain to set permanently.
Following these steps should help to get grass stains out of your charmeuse fabric. With a bit of patience and some vigilant maintenance, you can keep your charmeuse looking its best.
