To get started, you’ll want to pre-treat stain using either a laundry detergent or a stain remover that is safe for use on delicate fabrics. Simply work the detergent or stain remover into fabric using your fingers or a soft-bristled toothbrush until it is completely absorbed. Then, let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
Once the pre-treatment is complete, it’s time to wash the fabric. Since grass stains are notoriously stubborn, it’s best to wash your broomstick lace fabric separately from your other laundry. To prevent fading and bleeding, use a gentle cycle and cold water when washing. Once the fabric is washed, you can hang it to air dry.
If stain has not yet been removed after washing, you’ll want to try spot treating the stain with a vinegar solution. To do this, mix one part white vinegar with two parts water and apply it directly to the stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Repeat this process if necessary.
If the stain still persists after trying the vinegar solution, it’s time to reach for some oxygen bleach. Create a solution with one tablespoon of oxygen bleach powder per one gallon of water and apply it directly to stain. Allow the solution to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
After completing all of the steps above, you should be able to get rid of the grass stains from your broomstick lace fabric. Simply rinse fabric with cold water to remove any traces of detergent or stain remover. Finally, hang the fabric to air dry and enjoy your newly-cleaned broomstick lace fabric!
