Fill a sink or bucket with warm water and add a mild detergent. Soak grass-stained boxers in the soapy water for 15 minutes. This will help loosen the stain before you begin scrubbing.
Remove the boxers from the soapy water and drain the sink. Sprinkle baking soda over large grass stains. Dip a clean cloth into remaining warm water and use it to work the baking soda into the stain. Continue scrubbing until the stain has faded, then rinse the boxers with cool water.
If the stain is still present after scrubbing with baking soda, try applying a diluted solution of bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Make sure to wear rubber gloves when handling bleach or hydrogen peroxide and do a patch test on an inconspicuous area of the boxers first.
For bleach, mix 1 part bleach with 4 parts warm water and dip a rag into solution. Gently scrub grass stains until they have disappeared, then rinse the boxers with cool water. Repeat if necessary.
For hydrogen peroxide, mix 1 part hydrogen peroxide with 1 part water and pour into a spray bottle. Spray the entire grass-stained area and let sit for 5 minutes. Rub gently with a scrub brush, rinse with cool water, and repeat as necessary.
For extra tough stains, try using white vinegar. Fill sink with cool water and add 1 cup of white vinegar. Soak the boxers in solution for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water. If stain persists, repeat process.
Once you’ve removed the grass stains, hang the boxers up to air dry. It’s important not to dry them in the dryer, as this can set stain and make it more difficult to remove.
