Grass stains

Materials Needed:

  • Invisible tape/gel/spray stain remover
  • White vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Toilet bowl cleaner
  • Cleaning cloth

Step 1: Apply Stain Remover Immediately

As soon as you notice grass stains on your shoes, apply stain remover to the affected area. Spray or dab it directly onto the stain and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes. Peel away any dried grass bits from shoe with the help of a tape, gel, or spray.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain with Vinegar

Mix one part white vinegar and one part water in a bowl. Dip a cleaning cloth into the solution and blot the stained areas of the shoe. Do not rub stain – this could cause the stain to spread even more. Let solution sit for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Treat the Stain with Hydrogen Peroxide

Mix two parts hydrogen peroxide and one part water in a bowl. Dip a cleaning cloth into the solution and blot the stained areas of the shoe. Allow the solution to sit for 15 minutes.

Step 4: Clean with Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Mix one part toilet bowl cleaner and one part water in a bowl. Dip a cleaning cloth into the solution and blot the stained areas of shoe. Allow the solution to sit for 20 minutes. Rinse the area with cold water and let the shoes air dry.

Step 5: Repeat as Necessary

If the grass stain remains after completing the steps above, repeat the process until the stain is removed. Be sure to let the shoes air dry fully in between each step.
