How to Erase Grass Stains & Refresh Your Aeropostale Clothes

Accidents happen, and sometimes those accidents lead to grass stains on your favorite Aeropostale clothes. Don’t worry, you can remove these stubborn marks with the right products and a little bit of elbow grease. Follow these simple steps to restore your Aeropostale pieces to their former glory.

Start With Some Cleaning Supplies

To start cleaning your grass-stained Aeropostale clothing, gather the following supplies:

• Towel
• Laundry detergent
• White vinegar
• Baking soda
• Old Toothbrush

Pre-Treat the Stain

Once you have all necessary supplies, lay the garment flat on a towel. Before treating the grass stain, apply laundry detergent to the back of the stain in a circular motion. This helps lift the stain away from the fabric fibers. Then let the item sit for 10 minutes to allow the detergent to break up the stain.

Soak and Rinse

After pre-treating the grass stain, fill a bucket or sink with warm water. Mix 1/4 cup of vinegar into the water and stir. Put the item of clothing in the mixture and allow it to soak for at least 30 minutes. After the soaking time is up, take the Aeropostale garment out of bucket and rinse it with lukewarm water. Then check the stain to make sure it’s fading.

Scrub Stain Away

If the grass stain isn’t fading, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of warm water to make a paste. Gently rub the paste onto the grass stain using an old toothbrush. Allow the paste to sit on the stain for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Check the stain again to make sure it’s gone.

Pass the Dryer Test

If grass stain is still there, it’s time to give it another round of treatment. Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent together. Dip an old toothbrush into the mixture and scrub stain with the bristles. Then put the garment in washing machine and wash it in the hottest water that’s safe for the fabric. After washing, dry the item in dryer. If the stain is still visible, repeat the entire process until it's gone.

Finishing Touches

Once the grass stain has been successfully removed, it’s time to give your Aeropostale clothing a little extra attention. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to the rinse cycle of your washing machine to add a natural freshness to your clothes. Then hang the items on a clothesline to air dry and enjoy them looking as good as new!
