Mix 2 tablespoons of laundry detergent and 1/4 cup of warm water in a bowl or container. Soak stained area of fabric in this solution for about 10-20 minutes. Laundry detergent contains surfactants, which help to break down the proteins in grass stains. After soaking the fabric, use a soft-bristle brush to gently scrub the stain until it lifts.
Gently rinse the fabric under cold running water. Avoid rubbing the fabric together, as this could cause stain to spread. Continue rinsing until the foam and suds from the detergent solution have been removed.
Mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl or container, and dip a paper towel or clean cloth in the solution. Gently pat the affected area of the fabric until the stain is completely covered with the vinegar solution. Allow the vinegar to sit on the fabric for about 10-15 minutes before rinsing.
If the stain persists after pre-treating and rinsing the fabric, try using a dry cleaning solvent. Dip a paper towel or clean cloth in the solvent and dab the affected area until the entire stain is saturated. Leave the solutoin on for about 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water. Repeat as needed until the stain has been removed.
If the stain still remains after trying other methods, try using an oxygen-based bleach. Dilute the bleach according to the instructions on package, then soak the stained area of the fabric in the bleaching solution. Allow the fabric to soak for about 30 minutes, then rinse off with cold water. Be sure to wash the fabric in a washing machine afterwards in order to remove any remaining bleach residue.
