Glue stains can be difficult to remove, but it doesn't have to be impossible. Whether you're dealing with spot glue from a DIY project or a full-blown plaster accident, it's important to act fast and follow the right steps for removing the glue without damaging your workwear.

Step 1: Scrape Away Excess Glue

Using a blunt knife or other scraping tool, try to remove as much of the glue as possible. Be sure to take care not to damage the fabric in process.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain with a Solvent

Choose a suitable solvent for the type of fabric you are dealing with. You can use products such as rubbing alcohol, white spirit, mineral spirits or nail polish remover. Place a cloth over the stain and carefully pat solvent onto it. Allow the solvent to sit for a few minutes, then brush and scrape away the remaining glue.

Step 3: Soak the Stubborn Glue Stains

Mix a solution of warm water and a laundry detergent and soak the stained fabric in it for 15-30 minutes. This gives the detergent time to break down the bonds of the glue, making it easier to remove.

Step 4: Launder as Usual

Once the glue is removed, launder the item of clothing as usual. To make sure all the glue is gone, air-dry the item. If any glue remains, repeat the soaking process.

By following these four steps, you should be able to easily and swiftly remove glue stains from your workwear. With a little patience and persistence, you should be able to get rid of those pesky glue stains in no time!
