No matter if you’ve accidentally spilled glue on your wedges or you need to remove an adhesive residue, getting glue stains out of shoes can be challenging. But don’t fret – it’s not impossible! Here are a few tips to help you tackle those stubborn glue stains on wedges.
If you've got some rubbing alcohol on hand, this is often the best way to remove glue stains from your wedges. First, mix together one part rubbing alcohol with two parts water. Dip a clean cloth in the solution, then dab the stained area until the glue softens and starts to dissolve. Try using a soft-bristled toothbrush to really work the solution into the stain. Once the glue has been removed, wipe the area with a damp cloth to remove any remaining solution and then allow shoes to air dry.
White vinegar is another excellent option for removing glue stains from wedges. Start by creating a mixture of equal parts warm water and white vinegar. Use a clean cloth or soft-bristled toothbrush to apply the solution to the stain, working it in until the glue lifts from the fabric. After the glue is removed, rinse the area with warm water and then allow wedges to air dry.
Baking soda is a great all-purpose cleaner that can also help remove glue from wedges. Mix together equal parts baking soda and water to create a paste, then apply to the stained area. Scrub the solution into the affected area in a circular motion, being sure to work it in deeply. Leave the paste on for around 10 minutes, then rinse away with warm water. Finally, allow the wedges to air dry.
By following these easy tips, you can easily remove even the most stubborn glue stains from your wedges. Give one of these methods a try and your shoes will be good as new in no time!
