The first step is to identify the type of glue that is on uniform. This will determine which method to use to remove it. For instance, if the glue is super glue or fabric glue, a solvent such as rubbing alcohol is best. If the glue is school glue or craft glue, then warm soapy water should do the trick.
If you have identified the glue as being a solvent-based type such as super glue or fabric glue, you can try gently scrubbing the stain with rubbing alcohol. You can put the rubbing alcohol onto a clean cloth and dab it onto the stained area. Be sure not to rub too hard as this could make stain worse. You may need to repeat this several times until the stain is removed.
For school glue or craft glue, you can try soaking stained area in warm soapy water. Then use a soft brush or cloth to work the stain out of the fabric. You may need to repeat this several times until the stain is removed. Be sure to rinse out the fabric thoroughly after and lay it out to dry naturally.
If the above methods don't work, you can try using a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Mix together one part baking soda with two parts white vinegar and apply to the stain with a cloth. Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it out with soap and warm water. You can also try using a commercial spot remover or laundry detergent, following instructions on the product label.
It's always better to prevent stains rather than having to clean them up afterwards. When using glue with uniforms, be sure to cover both the garment and the surface you are working on with newspaper or cardboard. This will help protect the fabric from any potential glue spills and stains.
