If glue stain is fresh, start by gently scraping away any excess glue with a dull knife or spoon. You want to avoid pushing the glue further into the fabric, so use a light touch.
Once the majority of the glue has been removed, grab a bowl and fill it about halfway with lukewarm water. Add a tablespoon of mild detergent and mix the solution together. Soak a cloth or sponge in the soapy water and then use it to dab at the glue stain. Take care not to rub too hard as this could damage the fabric.
If the glue is still not coming out, you can try applying some liquid dish soap directly onto the fabric. Rub the soap in a circular motion and then blot away the excess with the cloth or sponge soaking in the soapy water.
When glue stain has been allowed to set it can be much more difficult to remove. Start by pre-treating the stain with a laundry stain remover or soaking the fabric in a mixture of water and chlorine bleach.
If the stain is still not coming out, apply a thick layer of rubbing alcohol onto the glue stain. Use a clean cloth to rub the area in a circular motion. The rubbing alcohol will dissolve most glues and the stain should start to disappear. Once glue has been removed, rinse the area with cold water and let the fabric air dry.
