Step 1: Blot the Stained Area with a Clean Cloth

First, use a clean cloth or paper towel to blot up any excess glue from stained area. Take your time with this step and try not to rub glue any further into fabric of shirt. Do not try to scrape off the glue with a blunt tool, as this may damage your clothing or make the glue stain worse.

Step 2: Apply a Fabric Cleaner or Stain Remover

Once you’ve removed as much of glue as you can with the cloth, the next step is to apply an appropriate fabric cleaner or stain remover. If you don’t have a commercial fabric cleaner, you can also try using a paste made from equal parts baking soda and water. Use a clean cloth to gently rub the fabric cleaner or paste into glue stain, taking care to cover the entire affected area. Let the cleaner soak in for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it away with cold water.

Step 3: Launder the Shirt as Normal

Once you’ve applied the fabric cleaner or paste, dry the shirt in the sun if you can, then launder the shirt as normal. If the stain is still there after washing, you may need to repeat steps 1-3. Be sure to check the fabric for colour loss before laundering again.
