Removing Water Soluble Glue

For water soluble glues like rubber cement or craft glue, start by wetting a cloth with cold water. Be sure not to use too much water, as this can cause the glue to spread. Gently dab the stain with the cloth to slowly remove the glue. Try using a gentle detergent if the glue doesn’t come off with water alone. If you’re still having trouble, try a spot treatment with white vinegar and then dabbing with a wet cloth.

Removing Oil Based Glue

Oil based glues, such as super glue, require different methods of removal. Start by soaking a cloth in rubbing alcohol and gently dabbing at the stain. You may have to repeat this process several times in order to get glue to come off completely. If rubbing alcohol isn’t enough, you can try using acetone, but be sure to test it on an inconspicuous area of the shoe first.

When all else fails

In some cases, stubborn glue stains may be difficult to remove by yourself. In that case, it’s best to take your shoes to a professional cleaner. They will be able to use specialized cleaning methods to remove the glue without damaging the fabric of your Tory Burch shoes.
