Use Remover or Solvent

Using a solvent to dissolve the glue can be effective in removing the stain. Start by wetting a cotton swab with cold water and dabbing it on glue. Do not scrub the stain because this could weaken the fabric of tights. Then, apply a solvent like rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, or WD-40 to affected area. This may dissolve the glue. Finally, wash the tights in your washing machine according to the care instructions.

Iron Sticky Spots

You can also use heat to remove a glue stain from tights. Place a cloth such as a thick towel between glue stain and the iron. Then, set the iron to medium heat and press firmly on the stain for several seconds. The heat will loosen up the glue, and you should be able to peel it away from fabric. When the glue is gone, put tights through a cold cycle in the washing machine to remove any remaining residue from the solvents or ironing.

Scrape Away With a Razor

If you have a stubborn glue stain stuck on your tights, you can try using a razor to scrape it off. Soak the affected area in cold water for 15 minutes. Then, lay the tights flat on a hard surface and carefully scrape away the glue with the razor. Be sure not to press too hard so that you don't cut the fabric. After you're finished scraping, run the tights through a cold cycle in wash.

Vinegar Soak

Vinegar absorbs the glue and helps to break it up. Fill a basin with warm water and add 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Place the affected tights into mixture and let it soak for 15 minutes. After soaking, wash them in washing machine with cold water. For tougher stains, you can use a stronger vinegar solution of 2 parts warm water and 1 part vinegar. Allow the tights to soak for 30 minutes before washing.

Conclusion

With these methods, you'll be able to keep your favorite tights looking great for years. Whether you're dealing with a stubborn glue stain or just a minor spot, these techniques can help you remove it and make your tights look like new.
