We’ve all been there—you’re trying to finish an art project or craft and the hot glue gun you’re using goes a bit haywire and leaves a mess of glue on your favorite tank top. But don’t worry, all is not lost—there’s actually a few simple steps you can take to clean up those gluey messes with ease.
The 3 Steps to Remove Glue Stains from Tank Tops
- Step 1: Start off by scraping off any chunks of glue on the tank top with a dull butter knife or the back of a spoon. Scrape gently so as not to damage fabric.
- Step 2: Soak tank top in cold water for at least an hour. If the glue stain is particularly stubborn, you may need to step the soak up to overnight.
- Step 3: Once the glue stain has had ample time to soak in cold water, you can wash your tank top in the machine with regular detergent. Use the cold cycle and hang to dry afterwards.
