Removing Glue Stains from a Swimming Pool Liner

When you’re dealing with glue on a swimming pool liner, there are a few simple steps to keep in mind:

  • Determine the type of glue used on the pool liner. Some glues can be dissolved with acetone, while others can be removed with a solvent cleaner.
  • If using acetone, first make sure that it will not damage the type of material used in your pool liner. If it is safe to use, apply a small amount to stain and allow it to sit for up to 10 minutes.
  • Once the glue has softened, rub it away with a soft cloth or sponge. If the stain still persists, use a pool brush to gently scrub the area until it is gone.
  • Lastly, rinse the area with water and allow it to dry before continuing to use pool.

Keep the Pool Clean

To make sure your pool doesn't become stained again, take some proactive steps:

  • Make sure to clean the pool liner regularly and prevent dirt and debris from accumulating.
  • Be sure to check the label of any pool chemicals to make sure they won’t damage the liner.
  • Avoid using any adhesive products near the pool, as they can cause staining if not properly removed.
  • If possible, keep a pool cover on the pool while not in use to protect it from the elements.

With these steps, you should be able to keep your swimming pool liner looking clean and free of glue stains.
