Removing Dried Glue Stains

If you have dried glue that has already set in your Superga shoes, your best option is to gently scrape off as much of the glue as possible before attempting any other methods. You can use a dull knife or even a butter knife to scrape away the glue. Once you’ve removed as much as you can by scraping, then you can try using an adhesive remover.

Using Adhesive Remover

For tougher glue stains, you will want to use an adhesive remover. This can be found at most major hardware stores. Make sure to use a product specifically designed for removing adhesive from fabrics, such as Goof Off® Fabric & Upholstery Adhesive Remover. To use adhesive remover, dab a small amount onto the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, gently rub area until the glue starts to break down, and wipe off with a damp cloth.

Cleaning Glue With Soap and Water

If you don’t have any adhesive remover on hand, you can also try cleaning the glue off your Superga shoes with a little soap and water. Start by using a damp cloth to gently blot at the affected area. Then mix a few drops of dish soap into a bowl of warm water, and dip a clean cloth or sponge into the soap mixture. Blot the stained area with soapy cloth or sponge and continue to blot until the glue is gone. Finally, wipe the area clean with a damp cloth and allow the shoes to air dry.
