The easiest way to remove glue stains from stockings is to try to dissolve the glue using soap and warm water. Start by mixing a small amount of liquid detergent or dish soap with warm water in a bowl. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the soapy solution and gently scrub the glue stain. Once the glue has loosened, rinse area in cold water and check stain.
If the glue stain is still visible after trying to clean it with soap and water, you can use nail polish remover to remove it. Make sure you use one that is acetone-free, as this won’t damage the fabric. Dab some of the remover onto the stain with a clean cloth or cotton swab and let it sit for a few minutes. Rinse area in cold water. Check the stain to see if the glue is gone.
Rubbing alcohol is another great option for removing glue stains from stockings. Soak a clean cloth or cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and apply it directly onto the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes then rinse area in cold water. Check the stain to see if the glue has been removed.
Vinegar also works surprisingly well for removing glue stains from stockings. Simply mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl, then dip a soft cloth or sponge into the mixture and scrub onto the stain. Rinse the area again with cold water and check the stain to see if the glue has been removed.
The best way to avoid glue stains on your stockings is to take precautions before you begin any crafting or repair project. Wear protective gloves and cover any exposed skin with adhesive tape to prevent any glue from getting onto the fabric.
