What You'll Need

  • Rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover
  • Cotton swab
  • Laundry detergent
  • Towel
  • Washcloth

Step 1: Apply rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to the stained area.

Using a cotton swab, apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to the glue stain. Do not scrub, since this may cause the glue to spread out instead of being removed. Instead, lightly dab the cotton swab onto the spot to lift glue.

Step 2: Blot the stained area with a towel.

Once the glue has been removed, use a dry towel to blot the area. This will help to remove any remaining residue left behind by glue.

Step 3: Rinse with water.

Rinse the affected area with lukewarm water to further remove any remaining residue from the glue removal process.

Step 4: Soak in a detergent solution.

Soak socks in a laundry detergent solution for 10-15 minutes to remove any traces of the glue. After soaking, use a washcloth to gently scrub the stained area until glue is completely gone.

Step 5: Launder.

Once all traces of the glue have been removed, launder the socks as usual.
