Step 1: Identify the type of glue

Before you start cleaning the glue stain, it is important to identify the type of glue used. Common types of glue include rubber cement, wood glue, super glue, and fabric glue. Depending on the type of glue, you may need different supplies to clean stain.

Step 2: Blot the Stain

Once you have identified the type of glue, use a dry towel to blot stained area. This will help to absorb some of the glue and make it easier to work with.

Step 3: Apply Rubbing Alcohol

Using a cotton swab, dab rubbing alcohol onto the stained area. Do not rub it in, as this could damage the material. Allow rubbing alcohol to sit on stain for a few minutes before blotting with a clean cloth.

Step 4: Rinse with Cold Water

Rinse the stained area with cold water to remove any remaining rubbing alcohol or residue from the glue. Blot the area with a dry towel until all the moisture has been removed.

Step 5: Treat the Stain with Vinegar Solution

Mix one part white vinegar with three parts warm water. Use a clean cloth to apply the solution to the stain. Allow the solution to sit for 5-10 minutes, then blot the area with a clean cloth.

Step 6: Wash as Normal

Once the stain has been treated, wash the item as normal following the instructions on the care label. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat to complete the process.
