Step 1: Scrape Away the Excess Glue

Start by scraping away as much of the excess glue as possible. Use a blunt, flat-edged knife or a plastic scraper. Make sure your tool isn’t too sharp, as this can damage delicate fabric. Gently scrape away the glue without pressing too hard.

Step 2: Treat the Stain

Mix a few drops of mild detergent or liquid soap into a cup of lukewarm water. Soak a clean sponge or cloth into the solution and gently dab the glue stain. Let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.

Step 3: Disinfect the Stain

If the glue is still attached to the fabric after the first treatment, it’s best to disinfect it. Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water. Then soak a clean sponge or cloth into the solution and gently pat the stained area. After this, rinse off with lukewarm water.

Step 4: Wash the Item

Once the glue has been removed, you can wash the item. For best results, hand wash the item in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Do not bleach or use hot water or put it in the dryer. Air-dry the item away from direct sunlight.
