Materials Needed
- Silk item with glue stain
- Warm water
- White vinegar
- Dish soap
- Cotton swabs
Steps to Clean Silk with Glue Stain
- Mix equal parts vinegar and warm water together in a bowl.
- Add a drop of dish soap to mixture.
- Take the cotton swab and dip it into the mixture.
- Gently rub the glue stain with the wet swab.
- Repeat this process until glue has been removed. For tougher stains, use a small brush instead of a cotton swab.
- If you notice any color residue from the glue after scrubbing, repeat the above steps, but with just vinegar and cold water.
- Let the fabric air dry, or use a soft towel to pat the surface dry.
Preventative Measures
In order to prevent future glue stains, try using a waterproof spray on vulnerable items to help put up a protective barrier against glue and other liquids.
