Step 1: Start by Identifying the Glue Type

The material you need to use to remove the glue depends on what type of glue it is. Take a look at the label on the glue packaging to determine which type you are dealing with. Common types include rubber cement, PVA glue, epoxy glue, and super glue.

Step 2: Gently Scrape Away Excess Glue

Once you’ve figured out what type of glue it is, you can start to remove it from the shoe. First, scrape away any excess glue with a butter knife. Be gentle and take your time, as you don’t want to damage the shoe itself.

Step 3: Pick a Cleaner That Suits Your Glue Type

When it comes to cleaning the glue stains, different cleaners work better on different types of glue. For rubber cement and PVA glue, you can try warm soapy water or rubbing alcohol. Apply these liquid cleaners to a cloth and rub gently over the stained area. For epoxy glue, try using a mixture of white vinegar and hot water. Most hardware stores also sell chemicals specifically designed for removing epoxy glue. For super glue, try applying a small amount of acetone-based nail polish remover to a cotton
