It’s inevitable that at some point we’ll get glue on our shirts. Whether it’s from a craft project gone wrong, or accidentally spilling glue onto ourselves, these annoying spills can be tough to remove. Thankfully, there are several simple methods to get rid of stubborn glue stains from clothing.

Method 1: Use Rubbing Alcohol

The first method for removing glue stains from clothing is to use rubbing alcohol. Begin by wetting the area with cool water. Then, take a few drops of rubbing alcohol and dab it onto stained area. Gently rub alcohol into the fabric, focusing on the stained area. Let alcohol sit for a few minutes before blotting it dry with a paper towel.

Method 2: Use Dishwashing Detergent

Another effective method for removing glue stains from clothing is to use dishwashing detergent. Start out by wetting the area with cold water and applying a few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent. Rub the detergent in, and let the solution sit for a few minutes. Then, use a cloth rag to scrub the glue stain. Finally, rinse off the detergent and blot the area dry.

Method 3: Use Vinegar and Baking Soda

Vinegar and baking soda is an age-old solution for stain removal. Start by mixing equal parts vinegar and baking soda to create a paste-like substance. Apply this paste to the glue stained area, coating the entire spot. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then wash it off with cold water. Finally, use a cloth rag to scrub off remaining stain, and then rinse off any residue.

Reminder: Always Test First

When removing glue stains from clothing, it’s always important to test the chosen cleaning product or method on an inconspicuous area of garment first. That way, you can make sure that the fabric won’t be damaged or discolored.
