Mix a small amount of laundry detergent with a little bit of warm water. Stir together to create a creamy paste. Apply paste to the stained area of the dress and let it sit for several minutes. Once it has had time to work, use an old but clean toothbrush to gently scrub the stain.
If the pre-treatment didn't do trick, then you'll need to mix white vinegar and baking soda together to create a paste. Spread the paste over the stained area and let it sit for one hour. Then, use a clean cloth to gently blot away the paste from the dress.
Once the paste has been wiped away, rinse the stained area of the dress with cold water. Be sure to keep rinse time brief, as hot water can cause the glue stain to spread further.
Once you have gotten as much of the glue stain out as possible using the above methods, it's time to wash the shift dress in the washing machine. Set water temperature to cold and use a mild detergent. If the stain persists after the wash, repeat this process until it is completely gone.
