When that's done, try using a liquid laundry detergent that is specifically designed to remove greasy, oily, and waxy stains. You can create a paste with the detergent and work it into the glue stain with a damp brush.
Once you've given it a scrub, you can let it soak for a few minutes, then rinse the fabric with cold water. If the glue stain isn't completely gone, repeat the process until it's out. It's important to be careful with shantung fabric, because you don't want to accidentally damage it while trying to get the stain out.
