Pre-treating the Stain

The first step in removing glue from rayon is to pre-treat the stain. Begin by taking a damp cloth and dabbing the stain gently. This will help to loosen the glue and make it easier to remove. Do not scrub or rub the stain, as this can damage the fabric.

Using a Rubbing Alcohol Solution

Once the stain has been pre-treated, create a rubbing alcohol solution by mixing equal parts rubbing alcohol and water in a bowl. Dip a cotton swab into the solution and then dab it onto the stain. Be sure to use only a gentle dabbing motion; do not scrub or rub the stain. Allow rubbing alcohol solution to sit on the stain for five minutes, then blot with a damp cloth.

Washing the Fabric

If the glue stain remains after pre-treating with the rubbing alcohol solution, wash the rayon according to its care instructions. Use a mild detergent and wash in cold water. If the stain persists, repeat the process.
