Step 1: Scrape the Glue with a Dull Tool

Before you start to treat the stain, it's important to scrape off as much of the glue as you can. Use a dull knife or the edge of a credit card to gently scrape away any excess glue. Be careful not to press too hard - you don't want to damage the fabric. Once you've removed as much of the glue as possible, you can move on to next step.

Step 2: Wet a Sponge and Rub Fabric

Next, soak a clean sponge in a solution of warm water and laundry detergent. Gently rub the stained area of your pencil skirt with the sponge. The heat and moisture from the sponge should help dissolve the remaining glue. Rinse off soapy solution with cold water, then check to see if the stain remains. If it does, continue to next step.

Step 3: Apply a Stain Remover

If there is still some glue left on fabric, then a specialty stain remover may be needed. Apply a small amount of the stain remover directly to the stained area and rub gently. Keep an eye on the area as it soaks and rinse it thoroughly when the stain is gone. Finally, launder the skirt as normal.
