What You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish soap
  • Toothbrush
  • Soft cloth
  • Iron (optional)

Step 1: Apply Vinegar and Baking Soda

Start by mixing one part white vinegar with one part baking soda until you have a paste. Spread the paste onto the stain and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. This will help to soften glue and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Scrub With a Toothbrush

Once the paste has had time to work on the stain, take a toothbrush and scrub the area gently. Don't apply too much pressure, as this could damage the fabric. Scrub until the glue is removed.

Step 3: Rinse and Launder

Once the glue has been removed, rinse the area with cold water. If the stain is still visible then repeat steps 1 and 2. After rinsing, launder the item according to the care instructions on the tag.

Step 4: Remove Stubborn Stains With Soap and Iron (Optional)

If stain is still present after laundering, try applying a few drops of dish soap directly to the stain. Then, dampen a soft cloth and press it against stained area. Cover the cloth with an iron set to low heat. Let the iron heat the cloth for 30 seconds, then remove iron and check the stain’s progress. Repeat this process until stain has been removed.
