Instructions:

  • Scrape off excess glue. Use a butter knife or other blunt edge to scrape off as much of the glue as possible before attempting to clean the stain.
  • Soak the jeans. Fill a large bowl with warm water and add a few drops of dish soap. Submerge the affected areas of jeans in the water and let them soak for about 15 minutes.
  • Scrub the area. With a sponge or brush, scrub the stained area gently. Rinse the jeans and repeat until glue is removed.
  • Treat any remaining stain. If there is still some glue residue remaining, rub a small amount of liquid laundry detergent into the area and let sit for 15 minutes. Then rinse and launder as usual.

Tips for Preventing Future Glue Stains

  • Take extra care when using glue. Be mindful of where you are using it, and pay attention when handling it to avoid any accidents.
  • Wear an apron when working with glue. This will help protect your clothing from any potential spills.
  • Clean up spills immediately. If glue does get on your clothing, don't wait to clean it up. The sooner you act, the better.
