What You'll Need:

  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Vinegar
  • Toothbrush
  • Soft cloth
  • Q-tips

Cleaning Glue Stains From Hair Clips

To begin, create a cleaning mixture out of dishwashing liquid and vinegar. This should be done in a 1:1 ratio, with half a cup of each ingredient mixed together. Make sure to stir the solution well so it is blended properly.

Dip the toothbrush into the mixture and use it to scrub away the glue residue from the hair clip. Move the brush in small circles to get any hard-to-reach areas. If you find any stubborn glue stuck to the clip, gently use the Q-tip dipped in the solution for extra cleaning power.

Once the glue has been fully removed, rinse off clip with warm water. Dry it off with a soft cloth and voila--your hair clip is back to its clean and beautiful self.

Additional Tips

  • When creating the cleaning mixture, you can also add a few drops of rubbing alcohol to further remove the stain.
  • If you're dealing with a delicate clip or material, use a gentle cleaning solution such as shampoo.
  • To prevent stains from occurring, only apply glue to inner parts of the clip, avoiding the outer areas that are more visible.
