Using a soft-bristle brush or a clean toothbrush, brush away any excess glue that has not yet dried. Do this carefully to avoid damaging the delicate fibers of the guipure lace.
Mix a few tablespoons of dishwashing detergent with a cup of warm water and stir until the mixture becomes slightly sudsy. Using a cotton swab, gently rub the detergent mixture onto the remaining glue stains. Allow detergent mixture to sit on the stains for two to three minutes before brushing away the dissolved glue.
After the glue has been removed, rinse the guipure lace fabric with cold water. This will help to remove any remaining residue left behind by the glue and the detergent. Hang the fabric out to dry and inspect it for any lingering residue.
If there are any stubborn glue stains that will not come off with these methods, you may have to take it to a professional dry cleaner. They can use more specialized techniques to remove the glue with minimal damage to the fabric.
By following these steps, you should be able to remove glue stains from guipure lace quickly and easily. Keep in mind, however, that certain types of glue may not respond to these methods and may require professional attention.
