Once you’ve located the glue stains on your curtains or drapes, it’s time to start the cleaning process. Start by mixing one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid detergent with two cups of cool water. Dip a sponge in the solution, then gently rub the affected area. Make sure to rinse the area with clean water afterwards.
If the stain hasn’t been completely removed, you can try using a white vinegar solution. Mix together one part vinegar and four parts warm water, then dampen a soft cloth in the mixture. Gently dab the stained area with the cloth until stain has lifted. Finally, rinse area with clean water.
If these methods don’t work, you may need to resort to a stronger cleaning agent. Your best bet is to use a specially-formulated fabric cleaner designed for curtains and window coverings. However, make sure to follow the product instructions carefully before using it, as some of these products may be too strong for certain types of fabrics.
Finally, it’s important to always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the fabric before using it on the glue stain. That way you won’t risk damaging the delicate fabric with harsh chemicals.
