What You’ll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Old toothbrush
  • Cotton swabs
  • Clean cloth

Instructions

  1. If your garment is machine-washable, first try running it through a regular cycle with cold water and dish soap.
  2. If that doesn’t remove the glue stain, create a solution with a few drops of dish soap and rubbing alcohol. Soak a cotton swab in the solution, then gently scrub the glue stain with a toothbrush. Make sure not to press too hard as you do not want to damage the fabric.
  3. Once the glue has loosened, wipe off the remaining soap and glue mixture with a damp cloth. Don’t forget to check the cloth for any remaining glue residue.
  4. Finally, run the garment through a cold water cycle in the washing machine to ensure that all the soap and glue are removed.

Tips

  • Always test the cleaning solution in an inconspicuous part of your garment before applying it directly to the glue stain.
  • Be gentler on delicate fabrics. You can use a clean, soft toothbrush to work out the stain, rather than the toothbrush with the solution.
  • Be sure to launder your garment after getting rid of stain.
