What You’ll Need
- Clean Cloth
- Mild Detergent
- Vinegar
- Hair Dryer
- Bowl
Instructions
- First, check care label of your cardigan to see if fabric is machine washable. If it is machine washable, put the cardigan in the washing machine and add a cup of white vinegar to the water.
- If the fabric is not machine washable, take a bowl and mix a mild detergent and warm water to create a solution. Soak a clean cloth in solution and blot glue stain repeatedly until the glue starts to dissolve. Try not to rub the fabric. Rubbing can cause the glue to spread or damage the fabric.
- After the glue has been removed, rinse the area with clean water and dry the cardigan off. If glue stain has not been completely eliminated, repeat steps 1 and 2.
- If the glue still remains, grab a hair dryer and set it to the lowest setting. Place the dryer six to eight inches away from the area and move dryer back and forth until the glue melts away from the fabric.
Additional Tips
- Be gentle when removing glue from the fabric. Aggressive scrubbing can cause the glue to spread or damage the fabric.
- Avoid using too much detergent when blotting glue. Adding a large amount of detergent can cause discoloration of the fabric.
- Always check for hidden glue stains after cleaning. Glue can be sneaky and hide in small creases.
