Whether you're dealing with craft glue, super glue, or other kinds of adhesive, don't fear! Getting glue out of calico fabric is simpler than you might think.

Materials Needed

  • Soft cloth
  • Mild laundry detergent
  • Bucket of cold water
  • Stain remover

Instructions

  1. Dampen a soft cloth with cold water and blot the glue stain. Be sure not to rub, as this can spread stain and cause it to set in the fabric.
  2. Apply a small amount of mild laundry detergent to the stain and scrub gently using a circular motion. This will help break up the glue.
  3. Rinse the area in a bucket of cold water. If there is still some glue residue left, repeat steps 1-3 until it is completely gone.
  4. If glue stain persists, use a commercial stain remover formulated for calico fabric. Follow instructions on the label for best results.
  5. Finally, launder the fabric according to the care label. This will complete the cleaning process and help remove any lingering residue.

Tips and Tricks

  • Be sure to check if your stain remover is safe for use on calico fabric before use.
  • Always test a small area of the fabric first to make sure it won't cause any damage.
  • For tougher glue stains, try mixing equal parts white vinegar and water and rubbing it into the fabric.
