How to Get Glue Out of a Bodycon Dress?

Getting glue out of clothing can be a difficult and uncomfortable task, especially when it comes to bodycon dresses. While there are some tips online for how to remove glue from clothes like jeans, these solutions don’t always work as well for bodycon dresses due to the thin fabric and tight fit.

The best way to remove glue from a bodycon dress is to use a solution of warm water and detergent, then gently rub the area with a soft cloth or cotton ball. You can also try using a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda, which may help dissolve tough stains. If glue has dried into the fabric, there are also a few options to try such as acetone or nail polish remover.

Before beginning any of these methods, however, make sure to check the care label on your dress. Some fabrics may be damaged by certain solvents, so it’s important to be sure you’re not going to ruin the garment in the process. Once you’ve made sure that the material is safe to use with the listed cleaning agents, you’re ready to begin cleaning the glue stains.

To start, try using a solution of warm water and laundry detergent. Begin by dampening a soft cloth or cotton ball with this solution and gently blotting at the stained area. Be sure to avoid scrubbing or rubbing too hard, as this may cause the fabric to stretch or change shape. Continue this process until all of glue has been removed.

If glue is still stubbornly clinging to the fabric, you can also try using a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda. Start by mixing two parts of white vinegar with one part of baking soda to create a paste. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit for around 30 minutes. Then use a soft cloth or sponge to gently scrub the area. Rinse off the excess paste with warm water and repeat the process until the stain has gone.

If these methods don’t work, then there are a couple of other ways to try removing the glue, although they may be more difficult and run the risk of damaging your dress. To start, acetone or nail polish remover can be used to dissolve glue, but it’s important to make sure that whatever solvent you use is safe for the material of your dress. If the glue is already dry, you may need to apply heat to the area to soften it before trying to remove it. This can be done by pressing a warm iron to the stained area for just a few seconds.

No matter which method you choose, always test it out on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first. This will help ensure that you don’t end up ruining clothing while removing glue.
