Before you start, make sure you have all the necessary materials. You’ll need a vacuum cleaner, a solvent-based cleaner (such as Goo Gone or Citristrip), a soft cloth, a tiny amount of detergent, and some white vinegar.
Start by vacuuming the stained area of your gown. This will help remove any excess particles of glue that may have gotten stuck onto the fabric.
Now it's time to apply the solvent-based cleaner to the stained area. Make sure you read the instructions on the bottle before use and take all necessary safety precautions. When applying cleaner, use a soft cloth and dab gently. Do not rub harshly, as this could damage fabric.
Once you have finished applying the solvent-based cleaner, use a different cloth to blot the area with a mixture of detergent and lukewarm water. Blot until the stain has been removed.
Finally, rinse the area with white vinegar to ensure that all traces of the solvent-based cleaner and detergent are gone. Then, let the area air dry completely.
