The first step is to soak the glued area of the abaya in warm water with a liquid detergent for around 30 minutes. This will help dissolve the glue and make it easier to remove. After the soaking, rinse the area with cold water.
Once abaya is soaked, you'll need to pretreat the stain with a pretreatment solution. Simply apply the solution directly to the stain and gently rub it in. You may need to repeat this process if the stain is particularly stubborn. Allow pretreatment to sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes before continuing.
Next, wash the abaya in warm water with a gentle detergent and allow it to air dry. Do not put the abaya in the dryer as heat can cause the glue to set permanently. If the stain is still visible, you may need to repeat the pretreatment and washing process one more time.
If there is still a faint stain or residue remaining, you can spot treat it with an oxy-based cleaning product such as OxyClean or Shout. Simply follow the instructions on package and you should be able to get rid of any remaining glue.
Removing glue stains from an abaya isn't as hard as you may think. By following these steps, you'll be able to quickly and effectively remove glue and other stains from your abaya, keeping it looking great.
