Foundation stains on wallpaper can be disheartening, but often, process of removing them is simpler than you think. With a few simple tools and the right know-how, you can remove those stubborn foundation stains in no time.
Using a soft brush, lightly brush over area to loosen the dried makeup. Use a paper towel to pick up the loosened makeup. This will help avoid further smudging.
Mix a teaspoon of mild detergent or concentrated dishwashing liquid in a bowl of warm water. For tougher stains, you may want to increase the amount of detergent used. Do not use any bleach or ammonia-based cleaning products as they can damage wallpaper.
Dampen a sponge in the mixture and gently wipe down the affected area. Use a light circular motion with light pressure to avoid damaging the wallpaper. Rinse the sponge in clean water and dry the area with a paper towel.
If the stain remains, repeat steps 2 and 3 until it is completely gone.
By following these four simple steps, you should be able to effectively remove foundation stains from wallpaper. Be sure to check for discoloration or fading after each step is completed to ensure that your wallpaper remains unscathed.
