What You'll Need
- Washing powder
- White vinegar
- Dishwashing liquid
- Cotton swabs or a soft-bristled brush
- Clean towel
Step 1: Pre-Treat
Mix 1 teaspoon of washing powder and 2 teaspoons of vinegar into 2 cups of lukewarm water. Dip a cotton swab or a soft-bristled brush into the mixture and dab it onto the stain. Let it sit for 15 minutes before laundering.
Step 2: Launder
Put garment in the washing machine and select longest cycle, which is usually a warm-water cycle. Add 1/4 cup of dishwashing liquid to the machine. Wash the garment according to the instructions on the label.
Step 3: Dry and Inspect
Once garment is ready, take it out of machine and lay it flat on a clean towel. Check for any remaining stains and repeat steps 1 and 2 if needed. Allow the garment to air dry completely.
