When dealing with foundation stains on Tussah, the first step is to act quickly. The longer the stain is allowed to set in, the more difficult it will be to remove. Once you’ve spotted the stain, gently dab it with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any excess foundation. Next, make a solution of warm water and mild detergent and apply it directly to the stain. Blot the area with a clean, dry cloth until the stain is gone. You may need to repeat this process several times before the stain disappears.

A second approach is to use a bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. First, make sure to test fabric for colorfastness by applying a small amount of the alcohol to a hidden area. If the color doesn’t run, carefully dab the stained area with the alcohol-soaked cotton ball. Don’t scrub, as this could cause the fabric to fray. Lastly, rinse the area with cold water and then blot it dry with a soft towel.

Another option for tackling foundation stains on Tussah is to use a laundry pre-treatment spray. Spray the stained area liberally and let the product sit for 10 minutes before washing according to fabric’s care instructions. If the stain is still visible after the first treatment, repeat the process before drying.

Finally, if all else fails, it might be time to seek the help of a professional cleaner. Be aware that not all cleaners are experienced with Tussah fabrics, so it’s important to ask if they have treated such fabrics before.
