If you’ve ever experienced foundation stains on your favorite tunic, you know it’s no laughing matter. Not only are foundation stains stubborn and difficult to remove, but they can also decrease the lifespan of your wardrobe staple. Thankfully, removing foundation stains from your tunic doesn’t have to be a chore.
Removing foundation stains from your tunic requires just a few specialized materials. Here’s what you’ll need:
Before washing and drying your tunic, pre-treat the stained areas. Start by wetting the area with water and gently rubbing laundry detergent into the stain. Let the detergent penetrate the fabric by allowing it to sit for approximately 10 minutes.
Once your detergent has had a chance to absorb, it’s time to begin scrubbing. Start by using an old toothbrush or soft bristled brush and gently scrub the area until the stain has been eliminated. Once you’ve wiped away the stain, you can move onto the next step.
Once the stain is gone, it’s time to rinse your tunic. Use plain water to thoroughly rinse the area and then let it air dry. Make sure the area is completely dry before wearing or storing your tunic.
If the stain remains after you’ve washed and scrubbed the area, you may need to resort to more powerful methods. Begin by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl. Dip your toothbrush or brush in the mixture and scrub the area until the stain is gone. If the stain still won’t budge, you can try using a laundry pre-treatment product designed specifically for removing tough stains.
Removing foundation stains from your tunic doesn’t have to be a difficult or time-consuming process. With the right tools and approach, you can easily get rid of tough foundation stains without damaging your cherished wardrobe piece.
