As anyone who wears makeup knows, foundation can be incredibly difficult to keep off clothing. The oils and pigments used to create makeup are often so potent that even the smallest brush of the fabric against your face can leave behind an unsightly smudge. Fortunately, for those of us who love our Tory Burch items, there is hope when it comes to removing foundation stains.
Step One: Blotting
The first step when tackling a foundation stain is to blot the area with a damp cloth. Blotting helps to lift some of the excess makeup off the fabric whilst keeping the stain from spreading. If you have a stain removal product, you can use this too but be sure to check the instructions on the packaging first.
Step Two: Washing
Once the stain has been blotted, it is time to wash the item. Be sure to read the care instructions for the specific item to ensure that you do not damage the fabric in the process. Most Tory Burch items can be machine washed using a mild detergent but it is best to use cold water and to avoid using the dryer. Hand washing is always safer.
Step Three: Air Drying
Once the item has been washed, the foundation stain should be removed. However, it is always best to air dry the item to make sure that stain is completely gone. Avoid placing the item in the dryer or putting it in direct sunlight as this may cause the stain to set and become permanent.
Step Four: Deodorizing and Re-Using
Now that your Tory Burch item is stain free, it is time to deodorize it. You can use a fabric refresher or try sprinkling baking soda over item and letting it sit overnight. Finally, you can now wear and enjoy your freshly cleaned Tory Burch item!
