The key to getting rid of foundation stains on skirts is to act fast. The longer foundation stain sits, the more likely it is to set instead of coming out when you wash it. So, as soon as you notice the stain, you should start the cleaning process.
Using cold water, premoisten the area where foundation stain is located. This will help to loosen up the stain and make it easier to remove. Make sure to be gentle so that you don't cause stain to spread further.
Once the stain has been saturated with cold water, apply a small amount of stain remover directly to the spot. Make sure to follow directions on package for best results. Once you have applied the remover, let it sit for at least five minutes before proceeding to the next step.
Once the remover has had time to work, rinse the skirt in cold water. You can either hand wash or machine wash it, depending on the fabric and the care instructions. If necessary, repeat steps two through four until the stain is removed.
Getting rid of foundation stains on skirts doesn't have to be a chore. By following simple steps above, you can have your favourite skirts looking like new in no time.
