Before attempting any stain removal technique, pre-treat stain by mixing a few drops of your favourite mild detergent into a cup of lukewarm water. Using a clean white cloth, gently dab a mixture onto affected area. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes for maximum effect.
Once the stain has been pretreated, rinse fabric with cold water using a separate clean cloth. Rinse for a few minutes using a gentle circular motion until all the residue from the pre-treat solution is removed.
Using a fresh cloth and a small amount of hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol, gently dab at the affected area. Use a circular motion, taking care not to rub too hard. Make sure to test hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first.
Once the spot treatment is complete, rinse the area again with cold water. You may need to repeat this step once or twice to ensure all hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol is removed.
Allow garment to air dry or machine dry on a low heat setting. Once the fabric is dry, inspect the garment for any remaining discolouration or stains. If necessary, repeat the above steps until the stain is completely gone.
